Pre evaluation survey Stand up if you: 1.)Eat two or more pieces of fruit a day? 2.)Exercise at home after school? 3.)Play sport on a Saturday? 4.)Would rather play a type of Nintendo, then be outside in the playground? 5.)If your favourite food is takeaway or lollies? 6.)Are allowed to eat food when you like at home? 7.)Go to bed before 9 o’clock? 8.)Have breakfast every single morning of the week? 9.)Your favourite class at school is P.E? 10.)Have a bicycle at home? Discussion: - With the ten questions if each student could start doing 2 or more a day, your body will be thanking you in the long run. It may be going to bed before 9, or eating 2 pieces of fruit a day, or playing outside instead of the Nintendo, or most importantly making sure you have breakfast every day. Breakfast gives your body fuel and energy for the day, this results in you being able to burn more fats in your body throughout the day. It will also make you more alert during class. - Children at your age need to understand that your health is very important, can anyone tell me why? What factors can have an effect on your health? - Who here has P.E. as their favourite class? And why? - How much sleep should we be getting every night? Therefor if we had to be up at 7, what time should we be going to bed? - Who plays sport on a Saturday? What sport? Why do you play? So now we understand that food, exercise and sleep/rest are the main areas of health that we can change. Today the Latrobe students aim to make an impact on your health, in doing this we are going to run a number of fun, engaging activities throughout the day.
